Storage Drop develops sophisticated energy storage systems based on isothermal compression of air with water using liquid piston technology.
The HyDrop technology involved high pressure vessels for isothermal compression, underground piping for storage of compressed air and discharge vessels for release of energy into Pelton turbine for power generation.
The DropX technology is a unique Hydraulic “green” isothermal compressor. The compressor is based on water pump compressing the air in an isothermal process, generating compressed air at a higher efficiency than other standard air compressor. This air compressor is a game changer in the air compressors industry and can provide factories with significant cost savings in electricity and maintenance together with a longer life expectancy.
The CoolDrop technology uses natural materials and is energy efficient compared to standard cooling cycles.
CoolDrop stores high pressure coolant for cooling and air conditioning purposes. CoolDrop target users are buildings, factories, data centers, industrial refrigeration and mobile refrigeration applications.
Where energy can be stored at a time when electricity is available from renewable sources or when electricity tariffs are low. Storage Drop uses compressed air technology. This technology exists in the market for decades but was not economically viable due to the use of conventional compressors (during the charging phase) and the heating of air (during the discharge phase) by pollutant sources.
Storage Drop uses a unique Hydraulic “green” isothermal compressor. The use of our proprietary unique technology solves the problem of air compressors high cost and low efficiency. Storage Drop’s solution will allow energy storage at RTE (“Round Trip Efficiency”) of 70% with a competitive cost relative to batteries for project life span. The HyDrop target users are solar and wind energy producers looking for a solution to increase their profit. In addition, Storage Drop energy storage system can also be connected directly to the grid to arbitrage the differences in tariffs.
Nowadays, solar and wind energy producers are selling the energy they produce at low tariff. The HyDrop system will allow solar and wind producers to store energy when the natural source is available and to sell the stored energy at a time when electricity tariffs are high.
HyDrop Advantages:
• Use of environmentally friendly materials (water and air)
• Unlimited cycles of charge and discharge with no degradation
• Low operation and maintenance costs
• Long life span >30 years
• High efficiency
• Competitive cost
• Long duration energy storage system.
Energy Storage System for cooling generation – including the development of a liquid piston compressor.
This technology uses natural materials and is energy efficient compared to standard cooling cycles.
Storage Drop is developing a unique technology– storing high pressure coolant for cooling and air conditioning purposes. Storage Drop CoolDrop solution will allow the storage of cooling energy at a price lower than the one of competitors – Thermal Ice Storage.
CoolDrop’s target users are buildings, factories, data centers, industrial refrigeration, and mobile refrigeration applications.
